Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation released statistical data showing that in the first three quarters of this year, China registered a total of 181,000 varieties of smart wearable products using commodity barcodes, involving 6,000 enterprises. Compared to the end of September 2020, the number of smart wearable product varieties increased by 91.4%, with an average annual growth rate of 13.9%, indicating a steady and rapid growth trend in the market.
Specifically, smartwatch varieties reached 29,000, growing at an average annual rate of 46.8%; smart glasses totaled 2,000 varieties, growing at 23.5% annually; smart earphones numbered 122,000 varieties, expanding at 14.0% per year; and smart bracelets amounted to 28,000 varieties, increasing at 1.2% annually. Smartwatches and smart glasses demonstrated growth rates significantly higher than the industry average.
As of September 2025, the top five provinces/municipalities by total variety of smart wearable products using commodity barcodes were: Guangdong Province (158,400 varieties), Beijing Municipality (6,500 varieties), Zhejiang Province (3,200 varieties), Shanghai Municipality (3,100 varieties), and Fujian Province (2,800 varieties).
